"The Stranger"
"The Stranger"
This short film was created as a final project for my high school AP English Literature and Composition class. While initially it was nothing more than a simple school project, it eventually became one of my favorite works, as I dedicated countless hours to refining every detail.
This short film is a satirical adaptation of Albert Camus' The Stranger, emphasizing the novel’s inherent absurdity through a condensed and deliberately goofy retelling. By exaggerating the existential detachment and nonsensical logic of the original work, the film playfully critiques and celebrates Camus' exploration of absurdism. What began as a straightforward class project soon evolved into a passion piece, blending literary analysis with humor, creative cinematography, and an appreciation for the bizarre. This adaptation stands as a testament to the idea that even the most profound works of literature can be reimagined in ways that are both ridiculous and thought-provoking.
"Tax Evasion Samurai"
What if a samurai didn’t pay his taxes? Tax Evasion Samurai dares to answer this question in the most absurd and entertaining way possible. This comedic short film was a collaborative effort, created for a school and district-wide film competition, where it won first place at the school level and third place at the district level.
While the effects may be rudimentary, the film more than makes up for it with the sheer passion and creativity poured into every scene. From dramatic sword fights to bureaucratic battles, Tax Evasion Samurai is a ridiculous yet heartfelt homage to both classic samurai films and the struggles of modern-day financial responsibility—proving that sometimes, the best stories come from the most unexpected ideas.
"Swimmas Paradise"
Among all my creative works, Swimmas Paradise stands as one of my absolute favorites. Originally created for a swim banquet video, this project is a true-to-origin parody of Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise—but with a twist tailored for swimmers. Every lyric, beat, and visual was carefully crafted to pay homage to the original while transforming it into an anthem for those who live and breathe the sport.
What started as a fun tribute quickly became something more—a passion-filled work that captures both the dedication and absurdity of the swimmer’s life. Whether you’re in the pool or just along for the ride, Swimmas Paradise is an unforgettable dive into the world of aquatic greatness.
"The Deal"
A man. A briefcase of beans. A collection of monkey pictures. The Deal is a two-minute comedy, that takes a simple yet utterly bizarre premise and turns it into something far greater. Created for a school film project, this short film embraces the absurd, delivering a surreal exchange that is as hilarious as it is thought-provoking.
While it may seem like just another wacky school project, The Deal actually carries a deep and profound meaning about society—one that speaks volumes, if you take the time to truly think about it. Or maybe it’s just about monkeys and beans. Either way, it remains a cinematic masterpiece of its time.
Mr. ACP (Episodic Series)
A five-episode reality series, Mr. ACP takes the classic high school male beauty pageant and transforms it into a full-fledged competition filled with charm, humor, and just the right amount of chaos. As the director, I aimed to capture both the ridiculousness and the competitive spirit of the contestants, making for an entertaining and unpredictable viewing experience.
While the series has its flaws, what sets Mr. ACP apart is its fast-paced production, allowing all five episodes to be released within a remarkably short time frame. The result? A wildly fun and lighthearted take on high school pageantry that embraces the absurd while keeping audiences engaged from start to finish.
