"The Stranger"
About this project
This short film was created as a final project for my high school AP English Literature and Composition class. While initially it was nothing more than a simple school project, it eventually became one of my favorite works, as I dedicated countless hours to refining every detail.
This short film is a satirical adaptation of Albert Camus' The Stranger, emphasizing the novel's inherent absurdity through a condensed and deliberately goofy retelling. By exaggerating the existential detachment and nonsensical logic of the original work, the film playfully critiques and celebrates Camus' exploration of absurdism. What began as a straightforward class project soon evolved into a passion piece, blending literary analysis with humor, creative cinematography, and an appreciation for the bizarre. This adaptation stands as a testament to the idea that even the most profound works of literature can be reimagined in ways that are both ridiculous and thought-provoking.
